Victory Brewing Company
GKV ARCHITECTS was retained by VICTORY BREWING COMPANY to design their brewery and taproom in their hometown of Philadelphia, at 1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, adjacent to Logan Square Park and halfway between City Hall and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
The taproom and brewery are the results of a gut renovation of a formerly neglected property. The renovation required the complete demolition of old finishes, cladding, roofing, and infrastructure down to the existing concrete and steel building frame and replacement and upgrade of the building structure and infrastructure. The design also includes a new public face on the parkway. The old façade, windows, and roof were removed and replaced with a new building façade of new brick and tile, new energy-efficient windows, a new canopy, and signage.
The brewery and taproom design showcases Victory’s product and brand while placing it firmly in its birthplace, the City of Brotherly Love.
