Richard Kronick, AIA
Principal
Richard N. Kronick is a co-founding principal of Gerner Kronick + Valcarcel, Architects, DPC. Since the firm’s inception in 1995, he has designed more than 40 million sf of space. He served as the Principal-in-Charge and Design Principal for the North American Headquarters of Allianz Global Investors, a 320,000 sf project, which includes a 675-person trading floor, cafeteria, conference center, and offices. He also led the 270,000 sf interior build-out at One World Trade Center that achieved LEED Gold Status, and the construction of 640,000 sf offices for The City of New York.
Richard has led numerous corporate projects including Hyperscience, Mic.com, Undertone, Medical Knowledge Group, xAD/Groundtruth, Wiggin & Dana, NYSPCC, Caremax, CHUBB executive & general offices in New York/New Jersey, M2L Showroom, The Durst Organization at OWTC and Midtown Manhattan, L.S. Power, Related Properties offices, and Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
Additionally, Richard has extensive experience in restoration projects, including a landmarked church at 361 Central Park West, where he designed the conversion of the building into a condominium. He also designs residential projects such as the repositioning of an existing 240-unit rental apartment building at One Union Square South, as well as high-end private residences, such as the Rosenthal Residence, Khafif Residence, and the Jones Residence, to name but a few.
Richard sits on the Board of Trustees for Project Renewal, a not-for-profit agency in the city of New York. His work has been featured in numerous publications such as the New York Times, Contract, Architectural Record, Interior Design Magazine, Interiors, Architectural Digest, The New American Apartment, and Urban Interiors in New York & USA.
