New Dawn Charter High School, a New York City Transfer School, commissioned GKV Architects to renovate its existing four-story brick building in Brooklyn. The remodeled school has an updated exterior, lighting, windows and mechanical systems. The 45,000-square-foot project comprises classrooms, a cafeteria and multi-use space, a teacher’s lounge, a conference room, administrative offices, counseling rooms, and a rooftop exercise area, as well as, a professional teaching kitchen and computer labs to support the school’s vocational offerings.
