Principal
Joe, named a principal of Gerner Kronick + Valcarcel, Architects, DPC in 2009, brings a comprehensive background in both interior design and base building architecture. With a background in the construction industry, his extensive knowledge in building codes ensures that GKV Architects abide by the abundance of complex environmental laws, local codes, permits and practices that each project encompasses. Joe’s notable projects include the Brooklyner, a residential development and one of the tallest buildings in Brooklyn; the 250,000 square feet headquarters for 32BJ SEIU, a LEED certified project; and Gramercy, a luxury residential building with a concrete and glass façade. In addition, he has worked on a new modular residential building in Providence, RI; 415 West 120th Street, a new student housing residential building for Columbia University, and the Steamfitters Training Building in Long Island City. He is also on New Hyde Park’s Board of Zoning Appeals and a member of the Nassau County Historical Society. A resident of Long Island, Joe enjoys visiting historic properties and Gold Coast mansions.
