GKV Architects’ newest project is an interior fit-out of a new 60,000 square foot public service center for a New York government agency, located in Brooklyn. The general seating area and service windows welcome clients with bright colors and bold super graphics. The blackened steel walls and cubic volume contrast dramatically in a simple open plan with blocks of color and discs of light. For the acoustical design of the open space, the design team created colorful sound baffles, inspired by the summer colors of green trees, blue skies, and the warmth of a yellow sun.
