GKV has designed a new 10-story building in Elmhurst, New York located on Queens Boulevard. The multi-use community facility is defined by its triangular form that draws from the site’s unusual shape. Full-height windows span over 300 feet on the ground floor to accommodate retail space, while a number of schemes are being proposed for the upper levels, including residential, office and parking. The building will comprise three tiers with curved glass fronts. It will be clad with bronze shingles. A landscaped terrace cuts through the middle of the structure to form space for recreational activity.
